Mixed Fortunes for Senior Sides

This weekend's action brought mixed fortunes for Paisley RFC, with a fine 47-5 home win for the first XV, tempered by a heavy 81-7 away defeat for the second XV at Braidholm. Man of the match in the first team game was in form prop and former young player of the year, Neil Ritchie who also scored the pick of the tries at Anchor.

Opening Day Win for First XV

The Paisley First XV, sponsored by Kilty Kilty, managed to squeeze home 10-17 in the opening fixture of the 2007 Regional League West 2 campaign, away to McLaren FP RFC. As might be expected with a visit to the rural farming community  in the Trossachs, the host team boasted a big and powerful pack, which the buddies did extremely well to match in most quarters, with a man of the match performance from former skipper David Dodds at Number 8, galvanising the Anchor side.

The New Season Begins

Both the first and second XV are in action tomorrow in the opening day of the season. The firsts have a tough away fixture against McLaren FP and the seconds are at home against Waysiders. Both fifteens will be looking for a good start to what they hope will be a successful season. Both games kick off at 3pm, all supporters welcome.

Bounce Game

Paisley ran out winners against Renfrew in a training game at the Anchor last night with a solid win. The game proved to be a worthwhile exercise for the coaching staff as they got the opportunity to field 30 different players over the course of the match. While the two teams were a bit of mismatch in terms of skill, it was a welcome break from the pre-season training session and has lifted the Paisley players as they prepare to face McLaren FP in their first game of the season.

Folk Night

The Junior section parents will be hosting a folk night in the clubhouse on the 31st August.

7pm til Late
