Braidholm 15 - 20 Paisley PDF Print E-mail

Paisley won again this week at Braidholm. After letting Braidholm dominate the game going 15 - 0 in the first 30 mins. Paisley fought their way back into the game. Captain Davd Dodds pickup from the back of a scrum and the ensuing charge, through 2 or 3 Braidholm tackles setup substitute Stu Farley (who had been on the pitch less than 2 mins) to score the try which was converted by standoff Gavin Newlands.

Five minutes later the Paisley Captain again picked up this time from a ruck 20m out from the Braidholm line. Again Braidholm struggled to deal with his run and he went over himself making the score 15 - 12. The ensuing conversion was missed and Braidholm took the slim advantage in at the break.

The second half was a differant story with Paisley playing down the slope with the wind. Paisley spent the majority of the half in the Braidholm half. The positional kicking of Gavin Newlands put Braidholm under alot of pressure. Paisley won three penalties all of which were missed. Braidholm then had their scrum half sin binned for a professional foul on the Paisley Scrum Half who had taken a quick tap penalty tackling him from an offside position.

With five minutes left on the clock Paisley generated a serious of rucks on the right hand side. The ball was then moved out wide to winger Mark Kennedy who beat several Braidholm defenders to score making it 20 - 15 to Paisley. The conversion was missed. Paisley then closed the game out taking the points with Braidholm picking up a bonus.

Once again Paisley made hard work of this game and will need to improve for the visit of Strathclyde Police to anchor next week. Kickoff for that game is 3pm and a good home crowd would be appreciated. This is a top of the table clash with both teams having picked up 2 wins in their first two games.
